These terms cover using Heliograph — the app, not the file you're sending with it. By installing or using Heliograph, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Heliograph sends a file from one device to another directly, over Bluetooth, a local Wi-Fi network, or a flickering QR code read by a camera — whichever the two devices can actually reach each other with. There is no server in between and no account. See the Privacy Policy for what that does and doesn't mean for your data.
You're given a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Heliograph on devices you own or control, for your own file transfers. The app is licensed to you, not sold — Heliograph and everything in it besides your own files (its design, code, and branding) stays the property of its developer. You may not copy, modify, decompile, redistribute, or sell the app itself. Where you got the app from an app store, that store's own terms apply alongside these.

Premium is an optional, auto-renewing subscription — $7/year — billed and managed entirely by the App Store or Google Play, whichever you bought it through. It removes ads on iOS and Android, and unlocks the app on macOS, where there's no free tier. It renews automatically until you cancel it yourself, from that store account's subscription settings — Heliograph has no way to cancel or refund it directly, and any billing dispute is handled under Apple's or Google's own refund policy, not this one.
The free iOS and Android builds show ads served by Google AdMob. Heliograph doesn't choose or vouch for individual ad content — that's between you, Google, and the advertiser. See the Privacy Policy for what serving ads involves.
Heliograph is provided "as is." A transfer's speed and reliability depend on things outside the app's control — the devices involved, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi conditions, camera quality for QR transfers — and while the app is built to resume an interrupted transfer rather than lose it, no method of moving a file is guaranteed error-free or uninterrupted. Keep a copy of anything important until you've confirmed it arrived.
To the extent the law where you live allows it, Heliograph's developer isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from using — or being unable to use — the app, including lost data or a failed transfer.
These terms may change as the app does. Continuing to use Heliograph after an update means you accept the revised terms; the date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
